Around the World

In my life, I have been fortunate to travel to many exciting destinations we have in the US and in Europe. Some of these adventures have been for work while most of them have been for vacation. I'm always looking out and dreaming of my next tropical vacation. Jen's definition of a tropical vacation includes a beach, warm weather and festive drinks!

I've been to 31 states and 7 countries in my life and have enjoyed every destination for various reasons. So far, Paris and Hawaii are my favorite vacation destinations. You may wonder how two vary different locals can be equally my favorite places to visit. I promise, it's possible. Let's start with Hawaii...

I went to Hawaii to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends and we visited Oahu for 8 days. The entire trip was wonderful and I had the opportunity to experience so many different things -- climbing Diamond Head, enjoying a Luau, seeing 30 foot waves on the North Shore and taking in a part of history at Pearl Harbor. The trip was amazing as was the weather (it wasn't so great when I returned to cold and snow) and something I could become accustomed to. The welcoming people, the historical aspect and the scenery all make for an experience of a lifetime!

Paris is equally beautiful as Hawaii but for many different reasons. What I love about Paris is the ability to walk around the city and never knowing what you're going to come across. It could be an artist on the street selling their paintings to coming across Notre Dame on your walk. Having the ability to wander the streets and see beautiful sights is truly, a one-of-a-kind experience. The Champs-Elysees, taking a boat tour of the city, the Eiffel Tower "glittering" at night and the chocolate crepes are my favorites of the city.

This blog entry was sparked because I'm "catching up" on my scrapbooks as I am a couple years behind. I'm currently working on my Paris scrapbook that I started when I first returned from that trip. Working on this scrapbook has reminded me how much I love Paris and more importantly, how much I enjoy scrapbooking. I love the creative aspect of scrapbooking and the memories that I have when looking back at the photos. Scrapbooking is truly an activity that I love and enjoy. Pictures of my exciting adventures around the world will be posted soon -- promise!!!
